Happy, Excited, Ecstatic - I can't even put in words what I felt when I saw some of the Designers' collections for Spring/Summer 2011. I was "over-the-moon" delighted with that sea of colour, bright colours put together like they have always belonged together, creating exciting, fearless ensembles that just scream fashion :) Enough with that nonsense that some colours are supposed to be some sort of archrivals which should never be paired together - let us welcome this new adventurous world, forget notions from the past and allow colour to speak louder and louder!
Red and pink, blue and green, red and yellow, orange and pink, green and purple, yellow and purple, an endless number of options...how exciting!
Thoughts of warmth, exuberance, happiness, boldness always come to mind when wearing these colours :)
I have always had a special relation with colour - yellow, red, orange, purple were always my sweethearts, whilst black, brown, grey were some sort of outsiders, to whom I would only resort to if strictly necessary. Age has made me somewhat wiser, so I now understand the importance of brown, black and grey in one's wardrobe, but yellow, red, orange, purple will always be my sweethearts :) And I just can't wait to embark upon this new colour adventure :)
Well, here is my take on this trend:
