Hang like a skirt but are actually pants...

Initially I wasn't sure if I should scream with excitment about this new fashion trend (actually, it is more like a fashion comeback) or just keep quiet about it and have some sort of secret affair, all because I know people have quite strong reactions to them, and that's that, you either love or hate them - of course I'm talking of the amazing, super cool culottes :) Yep, I have made my mind and I am telling the world how happy I am with their comeback - and those of you who know me know I make my fashion choices and wear them ever so proudly :)

Yeah, maybe I'm just being greedy and I want shorts and skirts in one, or maybe I'm not that comfortable wearing skirts and therefore culottes allow me to wear them with the additional protection that shorts offer...plus, must confess, I find it hard to get skirts and shorts for myself, either they make me look wider than I already am, they are too short or the design just doesn't flatter me...I feel culottes came to my rescue :)

They are so elegant, fresh, effortlessly chic - and filled with opportunities, all sort of looks can work wearing culottes...you can go for a laid-back look and pair them with a t-shirt, a silk shirt or a tunic...or if you want a more formal look, wear them with a shirt and a blazer... for a night out, either choose silky culottes or sequined ones...the world really is your oyster on this one :)

Well, here are some that caught my attention:

River Island Coral Smart City Shorts

Dorothy Perkins Nut Brown Twill Tie Shorts
Marc Jacobs Silk Drawstring Shorts
Topshop Yellow Sunspot Print Shorts
Topshop Multicoloured Flower Print Paperbag Waistband Shorts
Tibi Sequined Shorts
Stella Mccartney Silk Leopard Print Shorts
Reiss Draped Shorts

French Connection Sierra Sateen Shorts
Anthropologie Sahelian Acacia Shorts

Humm,
